Bonus Money $$$

I got my Federal & State taxes deposited yesterday. Also my company gives out some kind of bonus in March based on results from the previous year. No one knows what the goals are from year to year, how they are measured, who does the measuring, or what departments are grouped together. As usual, I forgot all about getting it. Some time in February, the managers walked around and put a flyer on our desks saying that we were getting the bonus and it would be the full amount of $1,500.

Pretty good, considering I didn't really know I was getting it. My Federal tax refund was large also. So I'm going to put $2,000 in my Roth IRA this month. This is great because it'll get me back on track to depositing the maximum amount for the new year in January of the same year. The last two or three years I've been off and using the grace period to get the max in by April for the previous year.

I was able to access my T. Rowe Price account this morning so I'll transfer the money. I want to open up another mutual fund with automatic deposits for a new car fund. My car is still driving really well. It's 9 years old and I'm going to keep driving it until it dies, but I don't want a real car payment. I've been meaning to set up the mutual fund for over a year so I need to just get going on it.

The good thing about being off work for the last few weeks, I'm hardly spending any money, other than snow shoveling, but it's supposed to be warm this week and Phil saw his shadow so early Spring!!
